So if you are to this point you may be asking what exactly are the benefits of choosing between a Hero, Independent, or Supervillain. Well to help you decide first we'll need to explain what each one is and what the general way you'll need to act when playing them. Here allow me to explain each Archetype:
Superhero: Superheroes are as most people know, the good guys. They do what it takes to fight and take out the criminals of the world, whether small time, or large time such as Supervillains. When you choose this archetype we expect you to play with a sense of justice, and the feeling of good. This isn't to say that certain things won't push you over the edge and force you to do bad things for the greater good. But usually superheroes take a lot to get pushed to this point. At the beginning of your character creation you will receive a +5 boost to Reputation, and +1 Contact(USW) .
Rogues: Rogues are people like Deadpool, those people whom have no actual affiliation. This is probably the most open and readily customizable Archetype, you are allowed to act as you please and do what you please and don't have to worry about trying to fit some stereo typical image. Because Rouges have no affiliation or a significant reputation to either side, they tend not to have as much sway when they start out. But they do get a better idea of what is really going on in the streets. So at the start a Rogue gets +1 Contact, for a minor, but street smart informant.
Super Villains: Super Villains are as most people know, the bad guys. They do whatever they want to achieve their goals whether its evil, or working with Superheroes, or manipulating people, you get the point. With this archetype we expect you to do bad things, no matter what it is. However realize that Villains can be arrested, or killed, and you will lose your 'Evil Karma' if you are killed and need to be ressurected, or arrested. At the beginning of your character creation you will receive a -5 boost to Reputaion, +1 Contact (Informant).
As you can see the archetypes all come with their own perks, however they also come with restrictions that need to be upheld based upon the archetype that you want to take. Be sure to take care of what you do, if you 'Archetype-Shift' which means you do something to go from Superhero, to Independent, or Independent to Villain, or Villain to Hero, or Hero to Villain, you will lose -all- your current Karma. So yeah, that's the description of Archetypes.
